What is Nomi HEMS?
Nomi HEMS is a home energy management platform that brings compatible solar, battery and other connected devices into one view. It supports monitoring, controls and energy management through a connected app and service tools.
Who can enquire?
Whether you already have solar and storage or are planning an installation, you can share your setup with us. We will review device support and your location before suggesting a next step.
How do I begin?
Send your postcode and the make and model of your inverter and battery through our home enquiry form. We'll discuss compatibility, installation needs and commercial terms before you decide to proceed.
Do I need to manage the system every day?
Not necessarily. Where supported, schedules and controls can help manage energy in the background. Your available options and the level of ongoing service depend on your device integration and the arrangement agreed with you.
Setup & compatibility
Will I need new hardware?
Not always. It depends on the equipment you already have, its connectivity and the integrations available for that model. We check these details before proposing a setup.
Can my installer be involved?
Yes. For a suitable system, we'll discuss whether your existing installer or a Nomi delivery partner can help with device connection, commissioning and handover.
Which brands are supported?
Support is model-specific and may vary by deployment. Tell us the exact inverter and battery models and we can check current options. A brand name alone doesn't confirm compatibility.
What if I do not have solar or a battery yet?
You can still share your plans with us. We'll discuss what energy management might require and whether an installation partner should advise you on equipment. We don't assume every new system needs storage.
Monitoring & optimisation
What can I see?
For connected devices, the home view can show solar generation, battery charging and discharging, and household energy use. Available data varies with your hardware and integration.
Can energy management lower my bill?
It may help you shift energy use or make better use of your solar and storage. Results depend on your tariff, household usage, weather, device capabilities and the setup agreed with you. Savings are not guaranteed.
Can I earn from my battery?
Participation in grid or flexibility programs depends on your location, retailer, program eligibility, hardware and any separate agreements. We can discuss applicable options; it is not included by default.
Why manage energy if I already have solar and storage?
Generation and storage are only part of the picture. When you use or export energy, and the limits of your tariff and hardware, can change the outcome. A connected view helps you understand these decisions.
What is an energy assessment?
Our online profile highlights questions to consider; it does not calculate savings. A tailored assessment needs details such as your tariff, interval usage, device model and location.
Service & costs
Who helps after installation?
Your installation or service partner can use device information to investigate issues. Our Melbourne team can discuss the support arrangement agreed for your setup.
How much does it cost?
Pricing is discussed after we understand your devices, installation needs and service scope. There is no automatic subscription or purchase on this site.
Do installers need to subscribe before speaking with Nomi?
No. Your enquiry starts a conversation about device support, delivery and terms. It does not create a partner account, incur a fee or commit your business to a rollout.
What if I have a larger site?
For commercial buildings, schools or multi-site portfolios, contact us to discuss the requirements. You can also explore Nomi's commercial and industrial energy offering.
Energy terms
A quick guide to your energy.
- W
- Watt: a unit of power. A 1,000 W appliance uses power faster than a 100 W appliance.
- kW
- Kilowatt: the rate at which electricity is produced or used.
- kWh
- Kilowatt-hour: an amount of energy over time; the unit on most electricity bills.
- Import / export
- Import is energy bought from the grid; export is energy sent back to it.
- Peak / off-peak
- Periods when your electricity plan may charge different prices.
- Time-of-use tariff
- An electricity plan with rates that change at different times of day.
- Battery cycling
- Charging and discharging a battery. A control strategy considers battery use alongside other goals.
- Energy optimisation
- Coordinating when electricity is stored, used or exported within the limits of your equipment and plan.
- Feed-in tariff
- The amount your electricity retailer pays for eligible solar energy exported to the grid. Terms depend on your plan.
- Negative pricing
- A wholesale market interval when the wholesale electricity price falls below zero. Household tariff effects depend on the retail plan.
